ARIZONA VOTES ON TUESDAY

MEDIA MONITORS RELEASES SPOT DATA FOR POLITICAL PRIMARIES

 

White Plains, NY (February 24, 2012) – Media Monitors released its study of political spots that were run in Arizona leading up to its primary election on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Media Monitors captured data for Radio, TV and Local Cable from the candidate’s campaign and the Super PACs that ran spot schedules.

All the data was collected from January 1, 2012 to February 23, 2012 in the Arizona markets Phoenix and Tucson on Radio, TV & Cable:

In the Total Impact statistics, it shows that Newt Gingrich ran the most Radio with 902 spots and 48 spots on Cable. Romney ran only 8 spots on Radio, 447 spots on TV in Arizona and 433 spots on Local Cable in the last two months. Santorum’s campaign ran 2 spots on Radio and 105 spots on Local Cable. Ron Paul ran only 6 spots on Cable. Super PAC Crossroads GPS (Karl Rove) ran 120 spots against Obama on Local Cable. The RNC also ran 6 spots against Obama, while the campaign Obama For America ran 14 pro-Obama spots on Radio and 3 spots on Local Cable.

In Arizona Gingrich’s Super PAC Winning Our Future ran 891 Radio spots and 48 spots on Local Cable. His campaign only ran 11 spots on Radio.

Romney’s Super PAC Restore Our Future ran 1 Radio spot, 447 TV spots and 429 Local Cable ads. While the campaign aired 7 Radio spots and only 4 Local Cable spots.


In Arizona, Rick Santorum’s campaign was the sole provider of media ads with 2 spots on Radio and 105 spots on Local Cable.


Ron Paul’s campaign, like in many states only ran 6 Local Cable ads and has no Super PAC support.
